Exceptional Chemistry in Uncharted Territory From a world of its own, not entirely unlike ours. Familiar sounds are rearranged - up, down, and backwards - while unfamiliar instruments open the door to musical discoveries in an expression that sits just beyond language, yet still makes sense. With rare chemistry, Mari Kvien Brunvoll, Stein Urheim, and Moskus take a new step into unknown musical terrain on Barefoot in Bryophyte. The collaboration began as the commissioned work Branches & Limits for Vossa Jazz 2023, and the music combines song-based material, spontaneous improvisation, and strong musicianship - making the project an immediate favorite with both audiences and critics. The songs are written by Mari Kvien Brunvoll and Stein Urheim, and further developed together with Moskus. The result is an open, exploratory blend of the familiar and the unknown. Welcome to an evening of high creativity, gripping lyrics, and melodies with open endings, performed by exceptional musicians.
