We invite you to an evening of dazzling string sound as the acclaimed violinist Maria Wloszczowska joins the orchestra for the very first time. One of Europe’s most exciting musicians, she is celebrated for both her virtuosity and musical depth. The programme opens with Grazyna Bacewicz’s Divertimento for Strings – energetic, rhythmically vibrant music interpreted by Wloszczowska with exceptional insight. She then takes the spotlight as soloist in Bach’s Violin Concerto in D minor, one of the Baroque era’s most expressive works. The evening concludes with Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 2 (arranged for string orchestra) – romantic passion and lyrical beauty on a grand scale.
