The Brief

Ahmed Fakroun is one of the most distinctive figures in North African popular music. Since the 1970s, he has blended Libyan folk and raï with electronic pop and European art rock, creating a truly unique sound. His album Words of Love / Mots d’Amour (1987) has achieved iconic status, and his music has recently experienced an international renaissance through Habibi Funk and sold-out concerts around the world.
