The Brief

In a Class of Her Own Between Pop, Soul, and Jazz For over 20 years, Beady Belle, the alias of Beate Lech, has released music that moves effortlessly between pop, soul, funk, and jazz, and everything in between. This is most recently showcased on the album Nothing But The Truth (2022), where refined neo-soul is woven together with melodic interludes, fragments of Norwegian lyrics that recall her time in Folk & Røvere, and a solid groove constantly orbiting Lech’s soulful voice. Since 2001, Lech has released eleven albums as Beady Belle. She has also collaborated with artists such as Bugge Wesseltoft, Jon Eberson, Joshua Redman, Jarle Bernhoft, Georg Riedel, Jamie Cullum, and Dee Dee Bridgewater - to mention just a few highlights from an impressive CV.
