Description
Line up:
Bill Frisell – guitar
Luke Bergman – bass
Tim Angulo – drums
As Bill Frisell turns 75, he marks the occasion the way he always has: with new projects, new encounters – and music that still moves in unexpected directions.
For more than four decades, Frisell has been one of the most distinctive voices in modern music. With a career that stretches far beyond genre boundaries, he has shaped an expression where jazz, americana, folk and experimental impulses meet in a singular and recognizable sound.
In this project we encounter him in close interplay with Luke Bergman and Tim Angulo – two musicians he himself describes as both collaborators and teachers. The result is an open and listening trio format, where improvisation, intimacy and curiosity are at the center. This is not about grand gestures, but about the details – how the sound is shaped in the moment, and how the musicians move together.
The concert is also connected to the release of the new album In My Dreams (2026), where Frisell gathers several of his closest collaborators in a new ensemble. A project that, in his own words, feels like both a reunion and a new beginning.
Now, as he takes the stage in this format, it is with the same openness that has always characterized him – a willingness to explore, listen and let the music find its way forward.
