Description
CODA: Avdal & Shinozaki / fieldworks. Boundaries between bodies, objects and surroundings gradually shift in a space where the familiar opens toward new connections, perspectives and relationships. In The fold of ^ a Landscape, Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozaki invite the audience into a universe in constant flux.
Through subtle movements, shifting spatial situations and unexpected encounters, a landscape in continuous transformation emerges. Bodies approach one another, glide apart and form ever new relations. Light, sound and scenic elements become active collaborators in a choreography where nothing is entirely fixed, and where the space itself seems to breathe, stretch and change shape.
Rather than telling a linear story, the work opens a sensory and reflective space for observation, presence and imagination. The audience is invited to experience how community, distance and belonging can arise, disappear and reappear through movement.
Through their many years of collaboration, Avdal and Shinozaki have developed a distinctive artistic language in which choreography, scenography and perception are closely interwoven. The fold of ^ a Landscape continues their exploration of how space and relationships are shaped, shifted and can continuously be understood anew.
