Isaiah Sharkey

For the first time, Isaiah Sharkey comes to Norway. The Grammy-winning guitarist, vocalist and composer from Chicago has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young voices in soul, R&B and modern jazz. Many know him through his collaboration with D'Angelo, but in recent years Sharkey has also built up his own project – an expression where groove, improvisation and strong melodies meet in a soundscape that moves seamlessly between soul, jazz and gospel. He has also worked with names such as John Mayer, Cory Henry, Chris Dave, Lalah Hathaway and Common. On stage he combines virtuosic guitar playing with vocals, presence and a band that leaves room for both the stripped-down and the explosive. His concerts have made him a favorite on club and festival scenes internationally. With the new album RED, Sharkey enters a new chapter as an artist. As he now visits Cosmopolite for the first time, it is with new material and a live experience that shows why he is highlighted as one of the most promising guitarists of his generation.
