The Brief

Unlocking music’s mysteries in the moment Geir Sundstøl and Joe Harvey-Whyte blend the floating tones of pedal steel guitar with field recordings, ambient drones and vintage synths. The result is an organic, living soundscape inspired by rivers in constant motion. This evening marks a live celebration of the album Langeleik, with the duo joined by Erland Dahlen - also featured on the record — adding subtle pulse and texture. Geir and Joe first connected in 2016 after Joe discovered Geir’s debut album Furulund. A musical friendship grew, and in August 2024 they met in Oslo to record music shaped by improvisation, deep listening and the energy of the moment. With a rich palette of instruments, synths and drums, the music moves freely between cinematic drones, fragile folk melodies and gentle rhythmic currents.
