Christmas at Torshov with The Switch!

The Brief

The beloved Christmas concert by The Switch returns to Torshov for the third time as the band and some of their very best friends take the stage at Cosmopolite on December 17! This year marks the 15th edition of the pop-rock band’s grand holiday concert — a festive evening filled with Christmas music of every kind, from hymns and evergreens to The Julekalender tunes, medleys, and original holiday songs. Expect homemade Christmas cookies, surprise visits from red-clad figures, amateur theatre, sing-alongs, and plenty of cheer. Each year brings something new, yet tradition remains at the heart of it all – The Switch celebrates every side of Christmas, from the heartfelt to the gloriously kitschy! In 2023, the concert was performed at Cosmopolite for the very first time – and it was love at first jingle lick. It’s no coincidence: the band has close ties to Torshov. Lyricist and cake baker Peter Vollset hails from the neighborhood and works as a bartender at Bar Albatross, while the band’s second album, B for the Beast (2015), features an ox on the cover — also no coincidence. What more can we say? Those who’ve been before know what’s in store. For everyone else: you’ll be well taken care of, whether you’re seeking cozy holiday spirit or the last stop before Christmas.
