Description
Asle and Gerd meet in a small coastal town furthest west towards the sea. They have a son, and for a time their happiness is complete. But Asle, the sailor, is restless and drawn towards the sea, while Gerd remains in the village, alone with the child. The distance between them grows, and the question is asked: How much distance can love endure?
