We break with what has been. When the world is troubled, we seek what lifts us up. Not to forget, but to hold on to what makes us human and to preserve precisely the power of life. It is not without reason that art and culture are an important part of our total defense – it reminds us of who we are, and gives us strength against what breaks us down. The power of life is about music that insists on energy, presence and imagination – even in troubled times. About moments where beauty, humor and interaction become a counterforce against what weighs us down. The evening's main work, Sextet in C major by Ernő Dohnányi, was written between two wars and draws inspiration from both Gustav Mahler and Johannes Brahms, but also from Hungarian music and jazz. Around this work we sew together a web of musical threads that lead us out into the main evening with renewed faith. Program Ernő Dohnányi Sextet in C major, op. 37 for piano, violin, viola, cello, clarinet and horn Other programs to be announced later Participants Musicians from the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra Maria Włoszczowska
