The energy and feel of melodic 60's jazz - lifted to our time The old-fashioned way, but never old-fashioned! Lyder Røed Quintet is back with a new album called Telling It Like It Is, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Upside Down released two years ago. The album consists of 9 tracks with a wide palette of different expressions deeply rooted in the jazz tradition. The new record sizzles with hard-swinging post bop in a good and warm Blue Note sound, as well as tracks with blue blues and blazing latin. The new music goes straight to the core of what this band is about: Recreating the music they love from their favorite era in jazz in a new and modern expression. Lyder Røed - flugelhorn, trumpet, Aksel Røed - saxophone, Philip Granly - piano, Andreas Svabø - bass, Elias Tafjord - drums Photo: Signe Fuglesteg Luksengard
