The Brief

Oslo-based Nedja, born in Tunisia and raised in Norway, moves seamlessly between cultures and forms of expression. She makes alternative R&B with organic textures and experimental rhythms - music that both envelops and challenges, and that affects you without ever needing to raise its voice. In the project Sadly Ecstatic, she explores the tension between belonging and alienation, strength and vulnerability, building an intimate sonic universe of layered vocals and atmospheric production that lingers in the body long after the final note. Nedja has emerged as a distinct new voice in Norwegian alternative pop/R&B, and was previously part of the Mutual Intentions universe - a background that can be felt in her uncompromising aesthetic and strong sense of direction, without her music ever being easy to box in. On stage, she is precise, intuitive, and fully present. When she comes to Belleville, we invite the audience into a close, sensory space where the music can move freely - raw, intimate, and unfiltered.
