The Brief

A concert and talk exploring big bands from the 1960s to today. New music for large ensembles takes center stage as Sandvika Storband comes to Victoria, led by trumpeter, arranger, conductor and educator Eckhard Baur. Together, they explore what defines great writing for large ensembles and how the genre has evolved - from Thad Jones and Bob Brookmeyer to Maria Schneider and Geir Lysne - all presented in an unplugged format.
