The Brief
Zawose Queens - Pendo and Leah Zawose - carry forward and reinvent the musical legacy of Tanzania’s Gogo people. Daughters of the legendary Dr. Hukwe Zawose, they’re the first women in the family to take the lead. Their debut album Maisha (2024) blends traditional instruments and polyphonic vocals with subtle electronic textures, creating a vibrant, ritual-infused fusion sung in their native Kigogo. Doors open 7pm.
