Description
Welcome to an atmospheric concert in Strømmen Church, where Baroque music and folk tunes intertwine to create advent sounds you have rarely heard before!
Early Voices is a distinctive vocal quintet that creates playful and experimental concerts, and at this year's advent concerts, four folk tunes from Selje, arranged by Birgit Djupedal, take center stage.
With a series of Magnificat excerpts from the Baroque – a tribute to the Virgin Mary – we invite you to a moment of calm just before the advent season. The music is an artistic dialogue between the sacred and the folk – an advent experience marked by warmth, mystery and sonic depth.
Peace and Joy on Earth is a varied and thought-provoking concert that creates space in a hectic time, and sends a hope out into the world for exactly that – joy and peace on earth.
Feel free to listen in advance by finding our Christmas EP with three of Birgit Djupedal's arrangements on Spotify.
