Description
Welcome to an atmospheric concert in Tøyen Church where Baroque music and folk tunes are woven together, creating Advent sounds you have rarely heard before!
Early Voices is a distinctive vocal quintet that creates playful and experimental concerts, and at this year's Advent concerts, four folk tunes from Selje, arranged by Birgit Djupedal, take centre stage.
With a series of Magnificat excerpts from the Baroque – a tribute to the Virgin Mary – we invite you to a breathing space just before the Advent season.
The music is an artistic dialogue between the sacred and the folk – an Advent experience marked by warmth, mystery and tonal depth.
'Peace and Joy on Earth' is a varied and thought-provoking concert that creates space in a hectic time, sending a hope out into the world of exactly that – joy and peace on earth.
Feel free to listen ahead of time by finding our Christmas EP with three of Birgit Djupedal's arrangements on Spotify.
