Ragnhild Hemsing and Christian Grøvlen - An Evening with Grieg, Halvorsen and Bull

The Brief

In August, star violinist and Hardanger fiddle player Ragnhild Hemsing captivated more than 20,000 people at Slottsplassen as a soloist with the Oslo Philharmonic. Now you have the chance to experience her up close – in the Festsalen. She is joined by pianist Christian Grøvlen, who NRK describes as “a born firework of virtuosity, combined with a deep understanding of the music he performs.” Together they present atmospheric works by composers such as Edvard Grieg and Johan Halvorsen, beloved Norwegian folk tunes – and of course music by Ole Bull, performed on Bull’s own Hardanger fiddle.
