The Brief

Kleive’s textures and energy in vibrant interplay! PoliturPassiarer was written for the Scheen Jazz Orchestra in 2016, and the music draws its driving force from the distinctive patterns and movements in Kleive’s drumming. The work creates space for Kleive to move freely through his own musical landscape, where rhythm, texture and energy are woven together in a lively interaction with the ensemble. While the collective expression is at the center, there is also plenty of room for both small, lyrical melodic lines and virtuosic, demanding solos. The melodic material grows out of Kleive’s deep love for classical music, and listeners may sense traces of inspiration from the great masters of art music. Naturally, the music is strongly rhythm-driven, and the entire orchestra must work as rhythmic engines to keep the wheels turning. Good to know: * Doors open at 7 PM * Age limit: 18 years
