The Brief

Original, playful, and uplifting. Since their formation in 2009, Team Hegdal have established themselves as one of Norway’s most original and innovative jazz bands. With five critically acclaimed albums, a Spellemann Award for Vol. 3, and extensive touring across Norway, Europe, Japan, and Canada, the band stands as a musical beacon on the Norwegian jazz scene. Led by Buddy Prize winner Eirik Hegdal, the current lineup features an all-star cast with Eivind Lønning on trumpet, Ole Morten Vågan on bass, and Gard Nilssen on drums. The new ensemble presents entirely new music—playful, melodic, and virtuosic, marked by a broad stylistic range, tight interplay, and touches of absurd humor.
