The Brief

The New Generation of Nordic Jazz! Tuva Halse Quintet creates an atmospheric and expressive soundscape, combining strong interplay with melodic and contrast-rich compositions. The quintet consists of five young musicians who have made a strong mark on the Norwegian jazz scene in recent years. Their debut album Two (Jazzland Recordings, 2023) received glowing reviews both in Norway and internationally. On January 23, the quintet releases their second album Reconnection, also on Jazzland Recordings. The album explores themes of time, belonging, and reflection, moving between the fragile and the grand, classical form and improvisation, with new vocal elements and baroque-inspired structures.
