Description
What do we truly experience when we listen to music? Something that cannot always be explained – only felt.
Peder Barratt-Due’s new commission For Reasons Unknown for strings draws inspiration from Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, inviting the listener into a musical landscape between meaning and non-meaning.
Joanna Bailie’s Residue explores the effect of time on sound, where echoes and distortion create a dreamlike soundscape between past and present.
The evening concludes with the duo Tlön – violinist Sara Övinge and cellist Gregor Riddell – together with musicians from the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. Inspired by Borges’ universe, familiar musical references are transformed into something new and unexpected.
Musical direction: Pekka Kuusisto.
Programme curated by Pekka Kuusisto and Sara Övinge.
This concert takes place at Sentralen, Marmorsalen. Address: Øvre Slottsgate 3, 0157 Oslo.
