Five bands, one choir - ninety young musicians on stage! On Sunday, June 21, Victoria Nasjonal jazzscene will be buzzing with energy as ninety young musicians take over the stage in six different youth jazz ensembles - ready to throw a jazz party and showcase just how vibrant young Norwegian jazz is right now. Expect youthful energy, deep grooves, and adventurous improvisation! The musicians are between 12 and 21 years old, and the ensembles are constantly welcoming new young talents as older members move on to studies and new musical adventures. Østnorsk jazzsenter established the Akershus and Oslo Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Buskerud Youth Jazz Orchestra around 2015. Since then, the family has continued to grow with projects such as Ung Vokal in 2018, the Youth Improvisation Orchestra in 2021, and the newest addition to the jazz family: the Østfold Youth Jazz Orchestra. The Akershus and Oslo Youth Jazz Orchestra is led by composer and trombonist Magnus Murphy Joelson. The Østfold Youth Jazz Orchestra is led by composer and saxophonist Hanna Paulsberg. The Innlandet Youth Jazz Orchestra is led by composer and trombonist Nilas Grosås Granseth. Ung Vokal is led by composer and singer Karoline Wallace. The Buskerud Youth Jazz Orchestra is led by composer and trumpeter Magnus Aannestad Oseth. The Youth Improvisation Orchestra is led by composer and flautist Henriette Eilertsen. Each band will perform a set of approximately fifteen minutes. Good to know: * Doors open at 2:30 PM
