Description
Zé Ibarra comes to Cosmopolite on June 3 with AFIM - his second solo album and a new chapter in his career. Moving beyond an intimate acoustic sound, he explores a richer and more dynamic landscape where MPB, jazz, pop and progressive elements meet. The album combines original songs and reinterpretations of Brazilian classics.
A key figure in the new wave of Brazilian music, Ibarra first gained recognition as frontman of Dônica, later releasing his solo debut Marquês, 256. He also co-founded the Latin Grammy-winning project Bala Desejo and has collaborated with artists such as Milton Nascimento.
Live, AFIM is performed with a long-time band, shifting between intimate moments and powerful arrangements driven by groove, horns and strings. The evening opens and closes with Brazilian DJ sets curated by Anja Bajer.
