Join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of one of jazz’s greatest legends – Art Pepper! Born in Los Angeles in 1925, Art Pepper lived a life of contrasts – from addiction and prison time to an extraordinary career as one of the most influential alto saxophonists in jazz history. He was a key figure in the West Coast style and the cool jazz movement, and his emotional and virtuosic playing continues to move audiences worldwide. On this evening, Dave Edge – one of Norway’s most respected alto saxophonists – will perform an exclusive selection from Art Pepper’s classic repertoire, with Oslo Big Band providing a powerful backdrop. The audience will hear big band arrangements by Marty Paich from the iconic release Art Pepper + Eleven, specially arranged for this occasion! Dave Edge, known from projects such as The Real Thing and collaborations with international jazz icons like Kenny Wheeler and Ronnie Cuber, leads with both respect and personality. Oslo Big Band, one of Norway’s leading big bands, guarantees quality, drive, and true jazz joy – and this concert is one night only. A tribute to a legend. An evening for jazz lovers. A musical event you don’t want to miss. Good to know: Age limit 20+
