The Brief

Step inside “Over the Threshold with Mrs. Gunnhilde Bleke” - a stubborn, sarcastic, and perhaps slightly lonely woman who knows exactly how she wants things to be. At the nursing home where Mrs. Bleke lives, not many people truly understand her. When a new caregiver also fails to grasp what she is trying to say, Mrs. Bleke responds with anger and bullying. When she refuses to take her medication, a new and magical world opens up - where she meets herself on the threshold, quite literally. In this physical and humorous theatre performance, we encounter big emotions and questions that resonate with all of us - whether we are children, adults, or somewhere in between. The show reveals how anger and sarcasm can hide longing and vulnerability, and how empathy can emerge in the most unexpected places.
