Bridge Quartet presents a tribute to Sonny Rollins' iconic album The Bridge – performed in its entirety, along with selected highlights from the follow-up What's New. Inspired by the legendary collaboration between saxophonist Sonny Rollins and guitarist Jim Hall, British guitarist James Girling has gathered a unique Scandinavian-British ensemble that unites tradition, elegance and modern expression. The result is Bridge Quartet – a band that bridges the American jazz heritage with a fresh, Northern European soundscape. With Dave Edge on tenor saxophone, one of Britain's most expressive voices on the instrument, and a driving, dynamic rhythm section consisting of Danish Emil Norman on drums and Norwegian Andreas Svabø on double bass, the quartet delivers an interplay characterized by nerve, precision and genuine joy of playing. This is not just a concert – it is a journey into one of jazz history's most iconic expressions, interpreted with respect, energy and personal character. After great success with an England tour in summer 2025, Bridge Quartet again sets out on tour in July 2026 – and the audience at Herr Nilsen gets to experience them first, before the tour continues to London. For jazz lovers and music lovers in general, this is an evening that touches both the heart and the ear. Lineup: Dave Edge (UK) – tenor saxophone James Girling (UK) – guitar Andreas Svabø (NO) – double bass Emil Norman (DK) – drums
