Saturday, February 21st, we'll reunite with a true Norwegian pop-rock gem when Brød & Cirkus takes the stage at Herr Nilsen! The band, which first appeared on the radar in the early 90s with the album Brød & Cirkus (1991), is back with full force and new life in songs that never quite got the attention they deserved – until now. With songs like "Om en og en blir to", "Kong Midas i revers" and "Vinger", Brød & Cirkus delivered Norwegian pop-rock at its most elegant and melodic. Production was handled by none other than Ole Evenrud (Ole I'Dole), and the band received support from an all-star lineup of backing vocalists – including Odd René Andersen, Håkon Iversen and Per Øystein Sørensen. These are songs that have left their mark on many – and for those who remember Nattønsket on the radio, the nostalgia will hit hard and well. Brød & Cirkus has its roots in Trondheim and was formed as a continuation of the band Romance. They chose to go all-in on Norwegian language and strong melodies – and it still shows in the music: big choruses, heartfelt lyrics and a nerve that hits both heart and memory.
