The Brief

It's a scorching summer in the Italian countryside in 1983. At the center of the story is 17-year-old Elio who lives with his family in a grand villa. Days are spent on art, literature, swimming and parties, but when 24-year-old Oliver arrives in town, everything is turned upside down. Oliver is charming and has a fascinating self-confidence. The film follows Elio and Oliver over a short summer; an intense love story in dreamlike beautiful surroundings.
