Cinemateket

A vibrant film museum in the heart of Oslo, devoted to cinematic art and history. Cinemateket screens everything from great classics and cult films to alternative and contemporary cinema—often specially imported to Norway. With two of the city’s best screening rooms and curated film series exploring philosophy, science, psychology, and architecture, it offers rich and thought-provoking experiences. It also hosts several annual festivals including the 70 mm Film Festival, Oslo Silent Film Festival, and Films from the South. The in-house café serves food and drinks—yes, even inside the cinema.
