Description
A very special evening awaits at Herr Nilsen when Claudia Scott marks the 30th anniversary of the critically acclaimed album Emanuel's Secret. In connection with the anniversary, the album is being re-released in an exclusive vinyl edition and celebrated with a few rare concerts. In Oslo, there will be only one night.
When Emanuel's Secret was released in 1997, it marked a clear artistic turning point in Claudia Scott's career. The album is today considered one of the most distinctive and atmospheric releases within Norwegian americana from the 90s. With strong, literary lyrics and an atmospheric soundscape, Scott created an album that was both personal, poetic and musically timeless.
From the gripping story of the grandmother in 'The Belle of Singapore' to the mysterious portrait of the artist Emanuel Vigeland in the title track, the album opens a musical universe where sound, mood and narrative merge into something entirely unique. Together with producer Erik Honoré, she developed an open, cinematic soundscape that still appears modern, and which cemented her position as one of Norway's foremost English-language songwriters.
This evening the music is performed with the original band from the recording, making the concert a rare occasion for the audience.
On stage:
Claudia Scott, vocals and guitar
Jon Brandnes, bass
Jørn Raknes, guitar
Vidar Ersfjord, keyboards
Tom Rudi Torjussen, drums
This will not just be a concert, but a musical reunion and a tribute to an album that has achieved cult status among Norwegian music lovers.
One Night Only, one album, one band, one night at Herr Nilsen. Don't miss this unique anniversary concert.
