Ladies in Blues - Rita Engedalen and Margit Bakken with guests Among Lynx and Kim Fairchild

The Brief

For many years, Ladies in Blues has celebrated Women's Day together with Østkanten Blues Club - ever since they were guests with Kristin Berglund on her show "Blues' Tough Ladies" in 2003. Rita Engedalen and Margit Bakken are joined by the renowned singer and actress Kim Fairchild, known for her performance about Billie Holiday. Additionally, the powerful Swedish duo Among Lynx with Eva-Mi Ringqvist and Elin Öberg will pay tribute to their female role models. The duo has been active for 23 years with their tribute to women in blues history - a project that has gained recognition both nationally and internationally. Rita Engedalen received the Spellemannprisen in 2006 and won the European Blues Challenge in 2012. Kim Fairchild has a long singing career behind her, and she has also performed in numerous productions at Riksteatret and Det Norske Teater. The theatrical performance "All Of Me" is her tribute to the jazz legend Billie Holiday. Among Lynx are two of Sweden's young prominent female blues musicians with roots deeply anchored in the American blues tradition. They tour school concerts with the interactive concert performance "Revolution: Blues! - about finding your voice through music". This will be an intimate and acoustic concert where the audience will experience a new musical encounter and a tribute to the female blues pioneers and champions who must never be forgotten!
