Fia and the Clowns

When Fia has to be placed with foster parents, she gains a valuable friend in the clown Bustric. Fia is eight years old, and can remind you a little of a vulnerable version of Pippi Longstocking. Her mother loves to party, dream and steal. Fia has the difficult task of looking after her, and it is important that mum is never sad! But one day the police arrive. Child protective services decide that Nanna and Siggen shall be foster parents for Fia and that she must go to school. Fortunately there is also magic in existence. In the yard next door lives the clown and magician Bustric. Bustric is a little grown up and a little childish. And he saves Fia from being seen as a liar and dreamer in the new class she has to start in. The film is written and directed by Elsa Kvamme, based on the book Fia-barnet by Gunn Bohmann, and has among other things been awarded the Amanda Prize for best screenplay.
