The Brief

FJELLVANG invites you to an intimate and atmospheric concert at Herr Nilsen, one of Oslo’s most loved live venues. This is for those who value real musical connection, strong melodies, and music that stays with you long after the final note. The trio released their critically acclaimed debut album Songs From The Reading Room in 2024, with a follow up arriving in autumn 2026. On stage, you meet a band that plays with space, calm, and presence, where every note is given time to breathe. At the front is composer and pianist Thor Erik Fjellvang, known for selling out venues across Norway with the concept Salmer på pøbb, as well as his work in concert promotion at KKV and collaborations with Adam Douglas and the trio Avec Machines. He is joined by two of Norway’s most sought after musicians. Bassist Jo Fougner Skaansar, known from his own projects and work with LILJA and Ine Hoem. On drums, Hermund Nygård, known from The Real Thing, Anders Aarum Trio, and Hilde Louise Asbjørnsen. This is not a concert you talk through. This is a concert you lean into and listen closely.
