The Brief

"FREEZE". The first thing the doctor said was a shock: You have cancer. The next was even worse: You have 24 hours to decide whether you want children or not. Frys is a theatre performance based on a true story about a young couple thrown into crisis, where love is tested in the face of uncertainty and impossible choices. The performance is inspired by Karoline Bentzen’s own experience after being diagnosed with cancer in December 2021. Faced with the risk of infertility from chemotherapy, she had to decide whether to freeze her eggs - a process that would delay treatment by three weeks. Do you have three weeks when you don’t know how the disease will develop? Karoline Bentzen and Eirik Hallert are a creative duo who have worked together for nearly ten years through the film and theatre company Spiller ingen rolle, founded in 2017.
