Grinchen

The Brief

Deep inside a snowflake lies the small town of Whoville, a harmonious and cheerful place where all the residents are busy preparing for Christmas. All except the Grinch. The Grinch is green, hairy, disagreeable, and sly. He lives high up in a mountain outside the town, and he hates Christmas. After a frightening encounter with some youngsters, the Grinch travels down to the town to ruin their Christmas presents. There he meets little Cindy Lou Who, the postman’s daughter. Cindy finds the Grinch funny and exciting. And eventually, it becomes clear that the Grinch is hiding a very sad secret. The film is based on the book How the Grinch Stole Christmas by children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel (1904–1991), who also created famous characters such as the Lorax, The Cat in the Hat, and Horton the Elephant.
