About this experience
A poetic film about love, friendship, and human connection. Massimo Troisi plays a shy postman on a small Italian island who develops a close friendship with the exiled poet Pablo Neruda. Through poetry, he gains the courage to pursue Beatrice, the woman he loves. The film was Troisi’s passion project—he delayed heart surgery to complete it and passed away the day after filming ended.
