The Brief

Scenes from good and bad days. It’s Not My Film is a warmly observed, well-acted comedy. Wanda and Janek have been married for ten years, and everyday life has begun to wear down their relationship. Is there still hope? They decide to set out on a 400-kilometer journey along the Baltic coast. They must stay together 24/7, stick to the beach, live simply, and cut all contact with the outside world. If they reach the end, the marriage continues - if not, it’s over. Armed with a tent, a camping stove, and uncertain expectations, they begin their trek in a grey February. It doesn’t take long for bad weather and their differences to create friction—while also bringing them closer again. The film marks the feature debut of Maria Zbąska, who also wrote the script and served as cinematographer. The music is by Anja Garbarek.
