Marilyn Monroe's last musical. Let's Make Love (Norwegian title: Hurra for kjærligheten!) is about billionaire Jean-Marc Clement who hears that a small revue theater is planning to have a parody of him in their program. He goes to one of the rehearsals to stop the show, but gets distracted after seeing the lead actress Amanda perform the song "My Heart Belongs to Daddy". The show has not yet found anyone to play the role of Jean-Marc, and the director assumes that Clement has come to audition. He is of course offered the role of himself, and accepts only to get closer to Amanda - without revealing his identity. George Cukor's Let's Make Love became Monroe's last musical. Both she and her husband Arthur Miller wanted her to play more serious roles. Miller wrote the script for The Misfits, which gave Marilyn exactly that, but it was unfortunately also her last film. Despite her reluctance towards the role, Monroe shines in this simple romantic musical. Montand also excels in his broken English. Also watch out for cameos from Bing Crosby and Gene Kelly, who teach Jean-Marc to sing and dance so he can best play himself.
