Miles Davis 100 Years - Sandvika Big Band with Eckhard Baur Honors Miles Davis

Miles Davis would have turned 100 years old this year. The jazz trumpeter, composer, and style innovator Miles Davis was born 100 years ago. One of the greatest and most iconic figures in jazz, a style innovator who was always evolving and rarely looked back. Sandvika Big Band will present highlights from Miles Davis's enormous catalog. Both arrangements of his own compositions, as well as music from his many collaborations with Gil Evans, who was himself a groundbreaking pillar in orchestration for larger jazz ensembles. The concert is led with stylistic confidence by conductor and trumpeter Eckhard Baur. Sunday, November 22nd at 19:00.
