Night on Earth

The Brief

Night on Earth takes us on five taxi rides unfolding simultaneously in different cities around the world. Each story captures a fleeting encounter between a driver and their passenger(s). The film begins in Los Angeles at sunset, moves through the night in New York, Paris, and Rome, and ends in Helsinki, where dawn breaks and night turns back into day. This is a subtle, warm, and beautifully observed film about cultural differences, communication, and chance, from American director Jim Jarmusch.
