Through a recording career spanning more than 25 years – the last 20 as a solo artist – Paal Flaata has amazed audiences with a voice that feels timeless, raw, and deeply human. It's soul, americana, dark poetry, and Nordic melancholy – delivered with a nerve few can match. Paal is among Norway's most touring artists, and for over two decades has performed across the country together with pianist and producer Gøran Grini. The interplay between the two is tight, dynamic, and full of space – where each song is allowed to breathe, grow, and hit the audience straight in the heart. Before his solo career, Paal Flaata fronted Midnight Choir for ten years. With his distinctive voice, he put the band on the European map, released five studio albums and two compilations – and received the Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy) for Amsterdam Stranded in 1998. As a solo artist, Flaata has built an impressive catalogue of critically acclaimed releases, from In Demand and Rain to New Green Grass Will Grow and I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day.
