Staffan William-Olsson with Asker Big Band

Staffan William-Olsson is a top-class Swedish-Norwegian guitarist, well known to a large Norwegian music audience. Over the years he has played with some of the country's foremost musicians, moving elegantly between fusion, hard rock and jazz – often as a musical bridge-builder between the genres. Many know him best from bands like The Real Thing and Sharp 9, where he has distinguished himself as a composer, arranger and a highly distinctive soloist. For the concert with Asker Big Band, Staffan brings a selection of strong tracks, specially arranged for big band. The music is based on the expression of Sharp 9, but lifted into a larger and more powerful format. Here there will be music with clear inspiration from the likes of George Benson and Wes Montgomery, delivered with Staffan's impressive technique, musicality and playful guitar work. This will be an evening of groove, joy of playing and a big band in top form. We're looking forward to it!
