THE NEXT MOVEMENT COMES TO HERR NILSEN
Get ready for an evening of uncompromising groove when the Swiss powerhouse The Next Movement takes the stage at Herr Nilsen on Monday the 2nd.
With over 1,500 concerts behind them and a reputation as one of Europe's most explosive live bands within funk, neo-soul and modern groove, the trio delivers a stage show that hits the audience from the very first beat. The Next Movement has a unique ability to make a three-piece band sound like a full big band. The result is an intense musical experience filled with deep basslines, razor-sharp guitar riffs, driving drums and vocals oozing with soul and energy.
The band has captivated audiences at some of Europe's biggest jazz and groove festivals, including Leverkusener Jazztage (Rockpalast/WDR), Black Sea Jazz Festival, Saulkrasti Jazz, Jazztage Dresden and Enclave de Agua in Spain. Now they come to Oslo with their most ambitious live show yet, in connection with the launch of their eagerly awaited fourth studio album, released in autumn 2026.
The Next Movement moves seamlessly between funk, neo-soul, R&B and modern grooves, inspired by both classic funk heroes and today's most innovative artists. The music is technically brilliant, yet immediate, danceable and full of joy of playing. The audience can expect an evening where the boundaries between stage and audience blur, and where the atmosphere builds up to one big groove party.
This is a band that must be experienced live. Their charisma, interplay and musical abundance have made them an audience favorite all over Europe, and many already describe them as one of the continent's most exciting funk exports.
Two concerts at Herr Nilsen give the audience a rare opportunity to experience an international band on its way to the absolute top division, on an intimate club stage where every note and every groove comes up close.
If you enjoy artists like Cory Wong, Vulfpeck, D'Angelo, Prince, Lettuce or Tower of Power, this is a concert you can't afford to miss.
This will be among autumn's strongest live experiences.
