Description
Big band on a small stage! When The Phantoms enter Herr Nilsen, it's with driving rhythms, powerful horns, multi-part vocals and musical antics that make your whole body tingle. The eight-man-strong ska machine draws its inspiration from the legendary Jamaican band The Skatalites – and delivers ska in its most original and life-affirming form.
On stage they are an organized chaos of whims, energy and raw musicality. From swing and blues to reggae and roots – all wrapped in a tight, pulsating soundscape filled with deep vocals and infectious choruses.
The Phantoms were formed in 1996 and for over 25 years have been deeply rooted in Oslo's inner east. Through six albums and hundreds of concerts they have built a solid catalog – and a reputation as a band with real presence. They call themselves 'The Messengers' – bearers of stories from the shadow side of the city, filtered through ska's rhythmic universe.
🎷 Ready to feel it in your legs? Join in when The Phantoms fill Herr Nilsen with power, power and more power – this evening will be anything but ordinary.
