Tintin – Prisoners of the Sun

Animated film based on the Tintin comics The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun. When seven archaeologists find a unique mummy in an Inca temple, they are struck one by one by a curse and fall into a deep sleep. After Professor Calculus adorns himself with the mummy's bracelet, he too is stricken, and moreover kidnapped. The astute reporter Tintin travels to Peru to search for him. Also joining the journey are Captain Haddock, Thomson and Thompson, the dog Snowy and the Inca boy Zorrino. The brave boy will lead the group through the perilous surroundings on the way to the mysterious sun temple and Professor Calculus' kidnappers. The tales of the eternally young Belgian reporter Tintin are among the world's most read comics, and several of the albums have been adapted for film. This animated film was made in close collaboration with Tintin's creator, Hergé, and is based on the two albums The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun. As many as 300 people worked for a year on the film.
