Friday 21 August brings youthful energy and a driving double concert as the bands Tobias Ruud Powerhouse and Otto Junior Band visit Østkanten Bluesklubb. Tobias Ruud Powerhouse Tobias Ruud Powerhouse are four young musicians who started playing together on the music program at Lillestrøm VGS and kept going after graduation. They impress with their youthful joy of playing and their musical skills! Tobias Ruud has long been talked about in blues circles and has impressed at the Byfest in Lillestrøm, among other places. The repertoire mainly consists of older and newer blues-rock classics that resemble the originals in form and content, but end up expressed as Tobias Ruud Powerhouse. They deliver blues-rock for mature and nostalgic enthusiasts that also engages the young! Otto Junior Band Otto Junior is a 19-year-old blues guitarist and songwriter who has toured with his band throughout Norway and parts of Europe and Asia. Now he is finally home again after an extensive Asia and Europe tour with as many as 25 gigs in Japan, South Korea and Croatia. With the talented musicians Theis Jakob on bass and Ola Grindbakken on drums, Otto Junior Band sounds tighter than ever! Otto Junior has shared stages with international blues legends such as Christone «Kingfish» Ingram, Little Steven, Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, Matt Schofield, Mike Zito, D.K. Harrell and Kid Andersen. He is also part of the Gibson family and opened for Slash, Billy Gibbons and Don Felder at NAMM 2020 in Anaheim.
