Torun Eriksen Quartet

Torun Eriksen is a prominent voice on the Norwegian and European jazz scene, known for her genre-crossing music and poetic lyrics. Musically, she blends jazz, soul and pop in a subtle and tasteful way, emphasized by the use of electronic elements that merge harmoniously with organic and acoustic textures. Her strong presence and ability to communicate captivates and challenges listeners, making her a unique artist. Torun was recently awarded the Radka Toneff Memorial Prize, the highest honor a vocalist in Norway can receive. Her compositions have been arranged for chamber orchestras, big bands and choirs. Her collaboration with the German Jazzchor Freiburg has led to tours in Japan, Korea, Germany and France. Torun has also worked with acclaimed artists such as Sarah Chaksad, Julia Hülsmann, Susan Weinert, Bugge Wesseltoft and her longtime collaborator Kjetil Dalland. On this tour she is joined by the brilliant saxophonist Atle Nymo and the Italian pianist Alessandra Bossa. Torun has released seven critically acclaimed albums on Jazzland Recordings, and in 2024 she celebrated 20 years as an album artist with her latest work, Fastlandet. On this album she explores new musical horizons, sings in Norwegian, and has arranged for a more improvised concert set.
