Description
On Friday 18 September, one of Sweden's talented young female blues musicians, Tove Gustavsson, visits Østkanten Bluesklubb.
Tove Gustavsson is one of the new generation of female blues artists that the blues scene needs. Tove stands out from the crowd with her own original music and a unique, dark and husky voice. Since releasing her debut album "Songs from a diary" around five years ago, her music has been noticed and received great reviews on radio, podcasts, social media as well as a nice feature in the industry magazine Jefferson. In 2018 and also autumn 2023, Gustavsson was part of the famous live show «Ladies Got The Blues» at the legendary pub Fasching in Stockholm.
In 2019, Tove was awarded the honorary scholarship «Åmål Junior Blues Prize» during Åmåls Blues Fest. She has also won in the categories «Album of the Year» (2020) and «Song of the Year» (2022) in the Bluespodden Awards. After acclaimed performances in Norway and Denmark, Tove has now made an international entrance with positive reviews. Her second album «First Class Lady» was released physically at the end of May 2025. Tove and the guys have since toured with the new material and were on tour in Denmark as recently as November 2025, where the new songs were met with full houses and a very warm response.
But above all, Tove Gustavsson and her band capture the audience's attention live - strong energy, audience contact, blazing guitar solos, high-octane drums, rolling bass and sharp songs.
Tove's band includes some of the most respected musicians in the industry:
Surjo Benigh - bass (Ulf Lundell, The Boppers)
Jens Frithiof - guitar (Ulf Lundell, Caroline Af Ugglas)
Matte Gustafsson - guitar (Lisa Lystam family band)
Björn Viitanen - drums
Welcome to a concert with a young, exciting blues artist!
